MIDLAND - Midland Animal Control officers are sending out a warning to pet owners.

They're asking you to not chain or tie up your pet for a long period of time.

On Thursday, they found a pitbull dragging a 12 foot chain that went about 2 inches inside her neck tissue.

That dog is now at Animal Services and is doing remarkably well after sustaining serious injuries.

Animal services says cases like this are considered animal cruelty.
