Former Odessa Police Officer Bonds Out of Jail

ODESSA - A former Odessa police officer bonded out of jail on Thursday night.

NewsWest 9 has learned Johnny Valderaz turned himself into authorities around four on Thursday afternoon after a warrant was issued for his arrest. 

The arrest comes on the heels of an investigation by the Texas Rangers into family violence charges against him.

Valderaz had previously resigned from the force.

He was indicted Monday for aggravated assault with a deadly weapon.

His bond was set at $50,000.
