BIG SPRING - The City of Big Spring isn't taking a lawsuit lying down.
A citizen group filed the suit last week accusing them of violating the Texas Open Meetings Act.
The City Attorney tells NewsWest 9, council members are confident they met all the legal requirements involving posting an emergency meeting.
The Concerned Citizens Council claims the City Council gave six hours notice, but by law they're required to give 72 hours.
During that meeting, the council shot down a petition by the citizens group for a tax rollback election.
The Citizens Group wanted the election so voters could decide whether a recent tax increase should fund a new city water park.
