New Federal Law Allowing Guns at National Parks

You can now take your gun into national parks like Big Bend.

A new federal law began on Monday allowing guns in most parks, but you still have to follow state rules.

Firearms will be permitted in camping and picnic areas, private lodges and concession stands.

But you can't carry them into visitor centers and rangers office buildings.

Opponents worry the new law will damage the spirit of the nation's parks system.
