WEST ODESSA - A cutting torch is being blamed for a West Odessa grassfire that put several homes and buildings in danger.
The flames sparked up a little before two o'clock along Chaparral in West Odessa.
Fire fighters say a man was working with the torch when the fire started.
The flames quickly spread to the surrounding properties.
One shed was charred, but none of the homes were damaged.
No tickets were handed out because Ector County is not under a burn ban.
