MIDLAND - Phase two of the construction at the Midland County jail is set to begin in the next few weeks.
The 15.5 million dollar contract has been approved and signed by both parties.
Phase two includes a new booking area, kitchen, commissary and laundry as well as three new housing units that will hold 75 inmates.
According to Sheriff Gary Painter, construction is expected to begin within the next month or so.
