COAHOMA - Students at Coahoma Elementary are doing their part to help the victims in Haiti.
The Coahoma Elementary Student Council asked their classmates to round up what they could for Haiti Relief.
So the kids brought in their pennies, nickels and dimes all last week to school, raising $2,600.
In addition, the Student Council donated some of their funds raising the total to $3,200.
"They were very excited. They loved being able to help someone else. I think when we give people the opportunity to help they respond, even children," 6th Grade Teacher, Russ Mullins, said.
The money raised by the students will go the "Real Hope for Haiti" Organization, an orphanage and rescue center.
