MIDLAND COUNTY - New details on exactly what happened to the woman hit by a train in Midland two weeks ago.

NewsWest 9 spoke with the lead investigator and he said 31-year-old Eunice Carlton had been sitting near the tracks on Business 20 and County Road 1250.

Police say she was just close enough to get side-swiped by the train's ladder.

No one else was around at the time and investigators do not think alcohol played a factor.

Right now, she's in the Intensive Care Unit at Midland Memorial Hospital, but officials believe she'll make a full recovery.

The investigator said this is the first train accident he's ever seen where the victim survived.
