It's been three years in the making, and this week, Hobbs and Lea County finally formed an alliance to help save stray animals.
The Lea County Humane Society and Hobbs Animal Services are now operating out of the same facility on Grimes Street.
City officials tell NewsWest 9, the goal is to stop euthanasia and increase adoption rates.
In the long-run, they hope this new center will save the city money.
The animal adoption center is offering low-cost spay and neutering and public education.
