MIDLAND - Children in the Basin decided to use an old fashion bake sale in hopes of making things a little sweeter for those suffering in Haiti.
After seeing the devastation that followed the January 12th earthquake, two Trinity school girls decided to do something to help.
They spent the last week setting up a bake sale and used social networking sites like Facebook to spread the word.
And on Sunday, they set up shop in Trinity Park to hopefully rake in the cash.
"We just thought that we should be helping them some other way than just giving money through our school," Trinity Student, Kathryn Latham, said.
The pair says they think they raised between 200 and 400 dollars on Sunday.
Latham says her father will match their grand total.
