Seminole Couple Plead Guilty to Injuring Their Child

SEMINOLE - A Seminole mom and step-dad pled guilty to charges of injuring their 10-year-old child.

Seminole Police and Child Protective Services conducted a joint investigation.

30-year-old Mary Ellen Brown Bates and 40-year-old Randy Wayne Bates told the District Court they're guilty of hurting their own 10-year-old back in February.

Randy Bates will spend 35 years behind bars and Mary Ellen faces 12 years behind bars.

She also relinquished her parental rights to all of her biological children, including the victim.

At this point, Seminole Police are not releasing any additional information about the case.
