MIDLAND - A stack of charges for a Midland County man after a high speed chase on Monday night came to a deadly end.
Some of the charges against Jose Miguel Hernandez include intoxication manslaughter, intoxication assault, and unauthorized use of a vehicle.
Midland Police tell NewsWest 9, the chase started around 10:30 with a report of a stolen truck on north Big Spring.
Police tried to stop the truck with spike strips, but we're told the truck almost hit a state trooper's car, then the trooper joined in on the chase on Loop 250.
When the truck left the loop at the Midkiff exit, it slammed into another vehicle, killing 46-year-old David Libenson of Midland.
A passenger was also hurt but is expected to be ok.
Hernandez was taken to the hospital and then booked into the county jail.
His bond has been set at $300,000.
