HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - A Hobbs man accused of selling crack cocaine to undercover officers pleads guilty.

38-year-old Poetry Royal pleaded guilty on Tuesday to five counts of drug trafficking.

Prosecutors tell NewsWest 9, Royal was arrested for selling crack cocaine to undercover police officers in 2005.

They say two counts of drug trafficking were dropped in exchange for the guilty plea on five counts.

Motions from both sides delayed the trial several years.

Right now, Royal remains behind bars at the Lea County Detention Center.

Sentencing is set for January 25th.
