HOWARD COUNTY - A new rule for Howard County workers.

They can now keep guns in their personal vehicles.

County Commissioners had to revise their handbook, which prohibited guns in employees cars, even if they had a concealed handgun license.

Commissioners took care of that Monday when they realized they couldn't enforce the rule.

"If you cant enforce it, you need to take it out and there is no practical way for the county to enforce this," Howard County Judge, Mark Barr, said.

We're told as long as there is a license for the gun and the gun stays in the car, everything is legal.

That change will be reflected in the new employee handbook.
