Man Arrested in Hobbs on Battery Charges

HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - Hobbs Police have arrested a man in connection to a violent confrontation at a mobile home park back in October.

Police arrested 30-year-old James Ortega this week.

They say Ortega cut up 40-year-old Lino Chacon's face during a fight in the 200 block of west Taos.

Chacon was shot during that altercation, but Police are still looking for the shooter.

Ortega has been charged with aggravated battery.
