FORT STOCKTON - The battle over trash in Fort Stockton may have come to an end.
On Tuesday night, the Council voted against a resolution to postpone the new rates and go back to the older and lower ones.
The Council wasn't even swayed when a citizen tried to sway their opinion with a presentation
As you'll remember, local businesses were upset when they received bills as much as six times more than before.
The City says the increase is needed to help prepare for the closure of the City's landfill.
Fort Stockton officials also say businesses should pay more since they're responsible for most of the trash costs.
