Presidio Gets Federal Money for Water Projects

PRESIDIO - Two major water projects are about to get underway in Presidio.

The city has received over $12 million in federal recovery act money for sewer lines and a new waste water treatment plant.

The sewer lines will go in a neighborhood on the eastside of town. The waste water plant will replace the city's aging one that is at 80 percent capacity.

The projects should get underway early next year. Mayor Lorenzo Hernandez spearheaded the effort to get the funds.
