WEST TEXAS - Tuesday morning has been slow-going for most people in the area.

West Texas has seen a mix of rain, sleet and snow fall in many locations.

Marfa and Fort Davis schools closed for the day because of the rough weather. Other districts in the western half of the region started late.

Interstate 10 was closed near Van Horn for about ten hours after heavy snow caused a big rig to jack-knife Tuesday morning. The interstate was fully reopened around 1:00 Tuesday afternoon.

Areas around Carlsbad, New Mexico have seen about a foot of snow.

Stormtracker9 meteorologist Matt Engelbrecht says we can expect more rain, sleet and snow throughout Tuesday and into Tuesday night.

Stormtracker9 is tracking the weather throughout the day. Chief Meteorologist Tom Tefertiller will have your latest forecast tonight at 4,5,6 and 10 on NewsWest9.
