MIDLAND - Even though Huckabee's book was all about Christmas, the author took a few moments to discuss some issues on the National stage.

When it comes to the economy, Huckabee says he's unimpressed with the way President Obama and Washington is handling the problem.

"They don't seem to understand that you cannot create a good healthy economy spending money you don't have and borrowing money you can't afford to pay back. And what we've done is just spent our children's future away," Huckabee said.

Huckabee also says he's critical of the new health care bill the house is about to tackle.

He said the plan doesn't make sense, will cost more than bill supporter's estimate, and will only make things worse.

So for now, he thinks Republicans should prepare for the House and Senate elections coming up next year, but he had less to say about whether he'll join the 2012 Presidential Race.

"No decision on that until after the 2010 elections, because I really want to make sure that we get those behind us first," Huckabee said.

Barnes and Noble ran out of Huckabee's Christmas Book, but they say they still have copies of his other book: "Do the Right Thing."
