BIG SPRING - An arrest has been made in connection to a string of recent robberies.

The Howard County Sheriff's Office and Big Spring Police Department arrested 31-year-old Ricardo Castillo of Big Spring at his home. Police believe he is responsible for a host of robberies and at least one brutal attack.

So far, Castillo has been charged with three robberies in Big Spring, but more charges are coming.

Police say Castillo robbed a woman at a church Sunday, an 84-year-old man at his home and the Sun Laundry.

He is also expected to be charged later Tuesday with an armed robbery that happened Sunday night at a store in Stanton and a brutal robbery in Howard County earlier this year. In that case a 67-year-old veteran was found on the side of the road east of Big Spring after being beat and robbed.

The Big Spring Police Department and the Howard County Sheriff's Office are still investigating and working with Stanton authorities.
