Major League Baseball announced their rookies of the year on Monday afternoon with a former Rockhound receiving the American League award.

Pitcher Andrew Bailey spent the 2008 season with the Rockhounds before making his way to the Oakland A's the next season.

Bailey saved twenty-six games for the Rockhounds affiliate that was easily the most for any rookie, and his era of 1.84 was also the best in the league amongst rookie pitchers.
