WEST TEXAS - Hundreds of West Texans rallied to keep their cities beautiful on Texas Recycles Day.

Midlanders dropped off all their recyclable junk at the Chaparral Center parking lot at Midland College.

Volunteers took everything from newspapers, fax machines, cell phones, computer parts and more.

This year, a small screen item joined the list.

"This year we're doing televisions in with the computers but this is a one time things. And with everybody you know and the big switch with TV. So you know it's a way for people to get rid of TV's they're not using. I just hope we can do it again next year," Texas Recycles Day Chairman, Raymond Saddler, said.

Odessa and Big Spring also had drop off locations on Saturday.

This is the seventh year for the state wide event.
