Odessa Elementary School Shelters in Place

ODESSA - An Odessa Elementary School sheltered in place for more than an hour Wednesday as police searched a nearby neighborhood.

ECISD says authorities were searching for some robbery suspects near Noel Elementary around noon.

The school was quickly secured by ECISD police officers who were already there teaching an anti-gang program.

The school came off the shelter in place around 1:00 p.m.

"Shelter in Place" means the school's exterior doors are locked and monitored and no one is allowed in or out of the building.
