We have another warning this weekend from the local Better Business Bureau.
This week, they continue to take calls from West Texans who are depositing or cashing fake checks in the mail.
They say the red flags tend to be letters saying you've won a lottery, sweepstakes, or mystery shopping.
In addition, many of the fake letters ask you to money gram or western union money to other countries.
Powell says many of the scammers are from out of the country.
She also says remember the old saying, if it seems too good to be true, it probably is.
