MIDLAND - By 2010, nearly one person out of every six in the United States will be of Hispanic origin.
That's why the Boy Scouts of America are stepping in to be able to reach to every boy.
They have a developed a Spanish Handbook, everything will be the same, only the language will be different.
Lyman Gifford with the Boy Scouts in Midland says this will be an initiative for more Hispanics to become involved in Boy Scouts and for the numbers among the Hispanic community to go up.
"We have had the Cub Scouts which is your elementary age we have had those handbooks available for 5 years, and have had positive response. We have actually seen an increase in our participation across the country, including here in the Permian Basin. I am sure the handbook is one of many reasons why we have had that increase," Gifford said.
