ANDREWS COUNTY - It's a long overdue bill that means extra cash for Andrews County.

A two and a half million dollar paycheck is on it's way in from a deal to store low-level radioactive waste at the Waste Control Specialists site.

It's part of an agreement between Texas and Vermont which gives Andrews County ten percent of the profits.

The County Judge tells NewsWest 9, Vermont should have paid half the money almost 30 years ago, but it never came.

On Monday, the Commissioners Court gave the go ahead to ask for the cash they're owed.

The Judge says it will most likely be a couple of months before they're actually paid.

All of that money will be put toward community projects.
