Embattled Bowie Coach Returns to Work

ODESSA - The Bowie Junior High Coach who was arrested earlier this month is now back at work.

Stan Wilkins was arrested with several other people, including two well-known Odessa attorneys, for breaking into a home and assaulting the people inside.

ECISD says Wilkins was given a temporary assignment tutoring history at the district's Virtual High School.

Wilkins will remain on temporary assignment until his legal troubles are worked out. District officials chose to put him back to work as a teacher instead of putting him on paid administrative leave. He was not assigned to Bowie Junior High because the district thought that would create a distraction at the school.

Wilkins and the three other people involved in the alleged break-in have now been sued by the victims in the case.
