MIDLAND - A Midland auto shop is picking up the pieces and cleaning up a big mess after a fast moving fire ripped through it just before lunch on Tuesday.
The blaze happened at E&R Automotive on the corner of Ohio & Terrell.
According to the owner, workers were removing a gas tank from a car when gas spilled onto a drop light.
That drop-light broke and sparked the flames.
We're told employees tried to put out the fire but it spread too fast and they were forced to flee.
By the time firefighters put out the flames, the inside of the business was substantially damaged.
Six vehicles inside the garage were burned.
No injuries were reported.
