EUNICE, NEW MEXICO - A train ran off the tracks in Eunice, sending several families out of their homes for a while on Sunday afternoon.
New Mexico State Police tell NewsWest 9, when the train derailed, they were unsure what the train was hauling so emergency crews evacuated several homes in the area just to be safe.
A HAZMAT specialist showed up, took a look, and said nothing toxic was on-board, so those folks were allowed back in their homes.
