BIG SPRING - City officials in Big Spring may soon invest more money into catching and stopping vandalism.
On Tuesday night, Council members took the first step in approving a reward fund for those who report information on vandalism around town.
Officials unanimously passed a first reading on the ordinance.
If it passes a second reading, the city will agree to match funds from CrimeStoppers if the crime is vandalism on public property.
The proposed reward fund would cost the city 10,000 dollars.
