Buying stock in Kleenex may not be a bad idea, local doctors say the flu is hitting the Permian Basin hard. NewsWest 9 tracked down one pediatrician who thinks closing school for a few days may help contain it's spread.

MIDLAND - The Midland School District doesn't think there's any need to close schools, despite the flu.
On Wednesday night, NewsWest 9 spoke with a doctor who said closing campuses may help the community stop the spread of what's going around.
But because district officials say they're still running at a 90 percent attendance rate, there's no need to close down any campuses.
They are stepping up cleaning measures, but they're following the centers for disease control's recommendation to remain open.
