Man Found Stabbed to Death in Midland

MIDLAND - Midland Police are investigating an early morning murder.

Police say a woman found the body of 45-year-old James Thomas in a truck on the embankment of the West Wall service road near Midland Drive around 7:00 a.m.

Midland Police say Thomas had been stabbed several times in the face and neck. The 2007 Dodge Ram Thomas was in was still running and in gear when police arrived.

Police say he had borrowed the truck from an acquaintance on Monday night.

"The vehicle will be impounded and processed for evidence in trying to figure out more of what happened.  All we know is, here we are this morning, the truck was up on the embnkment and the person who borrowed it is deceased," Midland Police Department Public Information Officer, Tina Jauz, said.

Little is known about Thomas' whereabouts Monday night and early Tuesday morning before the body was discovered.

Thomas' body has been sent for an autopsy, and Police are asking for the public's help providing any details that would help further the investigation.
