Odessa Firefighter Accused of Breaking Into Home

ODESSA - An Odessa firefighter is in hot water after trying to break into an Odessa home, and it wasn't just any house, try the local CrimeStoppers Director and Chief Medical Investigator.

NewsWest 9 has learned 37-year-old Richard Kilgore bonded out of the Ector County Jail this week.

Odessa CrimeStoppers Director Susan Rogers tells NewsWest 9, she awoke early Sunday morning to hear Kilgore beating down the back door.

Chief Investigator Carl Rogers tackled Kilgore when he didn't stop and held him until police could arrive.

Kilgore is a city firefighter, but no word on why he tried to break into the home.

No one was injured.
