Homemade Bomb Thrown Under Car in Hobbs

HOBBS, N.M. - Hobbs police are investigating a homemade bomb that was thrown under a car.

The call initially came in as a possible fire Wednesday, but when the fire department arrived they found an acid bomb.

The CDC web site calls these particular bombs MacGyver bomb because they are made by mixing common house-hold materials like toilet bowl cleaner, tin foil and a water bottle.
