MIDLAND - A Midland man convicted of handing out drugs to a minor is ordered to spend six-and-a-half years in jail.
35-year-old Sammy Ray Collins learned his fate on Wednesday.
He was found guilty back in June of giving a Midland student hydrocodone to sell at school.
He was busted after three 15-year-olds were caught on campus with the pills.
Authorities say he was also slapped with witness tampering charges, because he tried to get the student to write a letter on his behalf after he was arrested on the distribution charges.
