Two Teens Arrested for Starting Fire at Vacant Odessa Church

ODESSA - Two teens have been arrested for starting a fire at a vacant church in Odessa.

The two 14-year-olds were arrested after a joint investigation by the Odessa Fire Marshal's Office and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco and Firearms.

The juveniles are accused of intentionally starting a fire at the vacant House of Prayer Baptist Church at 1307 Broughton back on July 26, 2009.

Five firefighters were trapped inside the building after the roof collapsed while fighting the fire. They were successfully rescued with only minor injuries.

The investigation continues and more arrests are possible.
