WEST TEXAS - Farmers across West Texas may qualify for emergency loans after getting hit hard this year by drought and high winds.
Eleven counties in Texas were named as eligible for loans to cover losses, including Culberson, El Paso, Hudspeth, Loving, Reeves, and Winkler Counties.
Right now, applications for the emergency loans are being accepted at the Farm Service Agency Office in Fort Stockton.
Officials say generally a farmer must have suffered 30% production loss to be eligible.
For more information, details are available through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
