Man Charged with Murder After Assault Victim Dies

WEST ODESSA - A man who was arrested last week for assaulting another man has now been charged with Murder.

Oscar Carrasco died Saturday evening at Medical Center Hospital. The Ector County Sheriff's Office says Carrasco was beat last Thursday by Juan Manuel Valenzuela.

Valenzuela was originally charged with Public Intoxication and Aggravated Assault, but now he faces a murder charges after Carrasco died.

Carrasco's body has been sent to Fort Worth for an autopsy.

    Justin Lee Rodriguez, 22, has been charged with two counts of Fail to Stop and Render Aid “3rd Degree Felony”. An ongoing investigation and a Crime Stopper’s tip resulted in the suspect being identified. Rodriguez also reportedly had injuries consistent with being involved in a crash.
