ODESSA - Get your cars cleaned for a good cause.  That was the motto for one local car wash who partnered with the Ronald McDonald House Charities for a benefit car wash.

"We've got some increase in cars, there's a good volume of cars," Luke Kersh, owner of Kersh Car Wash said.

Even with the sun's heat shining down on everyone outdoors, it didn't stop people from washing cars for a good cause.

"It's been really busy. Really good flow. I've been cleaning wheels one car after another. Just trying to raise awareness and funds. Organizations are running up against hard times right now. We need all the support," Erin Tresner with the Ronald McDonald House Charities, said.

The Ronald McDonald House Charities partnerd with Kersh Car Wash in Odessa to help raise enough money to keep their programs going strong for the community.

"The family room provides a home away from home for people who have kids at the hospital and the Care Mobile Unit provides service to people in the Permian Basin," Tresner said.

"Part of our mission statement is to give back to the community. We wouldn't be open without the community," Kersh said.

For Kersh Car Wash Owner, Luke Kersh, helping non-profit organizations like the Ronald McDonald House Charities, not only benefits the community, but the environment as well.

"There's a city ordinance issue about water conservation, but here they can do it the right way, save water, and get a professional job done and it's a safe place to do it," Kersh said.

Kersh hopes that being part of Sunday's car wash fundraiser will serve as an example for the community.

"Simply to be a part of the community. We say we want to be part of the community. This is a way to put your money where your mouth is. This is a way to do that," Kersh said.
