Unemployment Rises in Permian Basin

WEST TEXAS - Unemployment continues to creep up in the Permian Basin although there are some positive economic signs across the state.

Texas actually added jobs in July. The state added just under than 38,000 jobs, but more people were still out of work.

In Odessa, the unemployment rate stands at 9.5 percent, up a bit from last month.

Midland's unemployment rate also jumped a bit to 6.3 percent.
