NEW MEXICO - New Mexico drivers will be able to sport a new license plate in January.

The turquoise plate with yellow letters and Zia sun symbol commemorates the 100th Anniversary of New Mexico's statehood in 2012.

The retro-style plate will serve as the official state plate replacing the hot-air balloon plate.

New Mexicans will get the opportunity to decide whether the classic yellow plate will remain an option for drivers.

Lea County viewers can vote by going to www.newmexico100.net through September 11th.
