ODESSA - Good news and bad news for some oil related companies moving into Odessa.
Lufkin, which manufactures drilling equipment, just broke ground on its new facility located off I-20.
The Odessa Chamber tells NewsWest 9, the company will bring some new jobs to the area.
They expect the facility to be fully functional by the end of this year.
But while it's good news for Lufkin, the National Oilwell Company has postponed construction on a new plant that would combine its three West Texas sites.
The Chamber tells NewsWest 9 that company had to lay off many of their workers and don't plan to begin work on the new facility until business picks up again.
