MIDLAND - U.S. Congressman Mike Conaway took time to take care of some business honoring a Veteran more than fifty years after he served.
Conaway presented Charles Traber with multiple metals on Tuesday in Midland, 54 years after he served active duty in the Korean conflict.
Traber was on active duty in the navy for nearly four years working flight operations on the U.S.S. Princeton.
He says at the time military officials were more focused on ending the war and getting servicemen home safe. But he says he's happy to finally get his metals.
Traber's metals include a combat action badge and Navy good conduct badge among many others.
