ALPINE - More students will hit campus when classes start up at Sul Ross State University in a couple weeks.

Early numbers show a good-sized increase in enrollment.

So far, more than 1,100 new students have been accepted for admission, up about 350 from this same time last year.

That's a 35% increase.

The University says increased recruitment efforts, active outreach programs, and the economy are probably all factors in this year's higher numbers.
