ODESSA - Filing a police report in Odessa as now as easy as a click of a mouse, all thanks to a new program called "Cop Logic."

"People can just print the report out when they are done at home or here and get a case number and otherwise that could take a couple of days," Lt. Art Fuentes said.

The kiosks have only been up and running a few days, but they implemented the program on their website the first of this year.

"In July, we had 88 cases filed online and that has saved about 3,500 dollars," Fuentes said.

The online program helps free up officers, dispatchers, and clerks.

"It's a constant problem, people always complain and it takes so long and it is the minor crimes that really bog down our officers," he says.

Odessa is the only city its size in our area to use the program.

"In today's world if you are not utilizing this type of stuff, it just really sets you back," he said.

The kiosks at the police station are open 24 hours a day and you can also access the program through their web site www.odessapd.com.
