ODESSA - One would-be robber in Odessa got more than he bargained in an attempted robbery late Thursday night.
The robbery happened at the Dollar Tree on east 42nd Street, around 9:30.
Police say a woman was approached by a man who asked for the time, then pulled out a gun and demanded cash.
Instead of money, he got pepper strayed.
We're told the man ran off and the woman called the cops.
Police set up a perimeter and searched the area, but couldn't find him.
Authorities are looking for a Hispanic man in his early 20's, 5'9", and 150 pounds.
He was last seen in a white baseball cap, blue shirt, and jeans.
