MIDLAND - Quite a day for folks over on Cherokee Drive in Midland.
A house went up in flames just after seven on Thursday evening, and police spent the better part of the day responding to numerous calls at that same home.
Midland police tell NewsWest 9, a man and a woman live there but neither of them was home during the fire.
But they know where the man was, he was in jail, charged with harassing a peace officer.
Other residents in the area say during the last of many disturbance calls on Thursday, officers got tangled up in a fight with the man while they were trying to arrest him.
But they managed to contain him, and hauled him off to jail.
Sometime after that, the house burst into flames.
Officials say it's a total loss.
No one was hurt and they're still combing the scene for clues as to what ignited the blaze.
