Unemployment Continues to Rise in West Texas

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) - Unemployment continues to climb across the state, including in West Texas.

Midland's unemployment rate is now 6.1%. Odessa's unemployment rate has climbed to 9.1%.

The state's unemployment rate is now 7.5%. The national unemployment rate is now 9.5%.

Preliminary June jobless rates for local areas in Texas, with revised May numbers in parentheses. The local figures are not seasonally adjusted.
