JEFF DAVIS COUNTY - A horse is lucky to be alive after falling into a well in Jeff Davis County.
It happened around nine on Tuesday night, near Fort Davis.
The horse walked onto a metal grate covering the well and fell about ten feet to the bottom.
A tourist, staying at a home on the property, saw the horse fall and called for help.
A local vet sedated the horse, then the sheriff's office and fire department were able to hoist the horse out with fire hoses and an oil field truck.
