HOBBS, NEW MEXICO - A drive-by shooting in Hobbs sends one teen to the hospital and another to jail.

Hobbs Police say the victim was driving down Leech Street when he heard the gunshot come from a car that passed him going the other way.

He realized he'd been shot and had a passenger in his car take him to the hospital.

After police talked to that teen, they caught up with 16-year-old Jorge Castillo at his house in Eunice where he was arrested.

Police also found the handgun and an empty shell casing they think was used in the shooting.

Castillo is being held in the Lea County Juvenile Detention Facility.

No word on the victim's condition.
